nykoaleksander aka sohawkward said he's over Dragon Age, so it's likely the last piece we get from him T_T
I'll miss your grey softness!

I just wanted to say THANK YOU again for reblogging my art. It means a lot to me! ♥️
sohawkward mentioned you in a photo
@gay-nidoking I appreciate your blatant aggression, however it is quite uncalled for. I am very aware Fenris has tan skin. However, as a painter, I am also very aware of colour theory and how lighting works. Even people with darker skin show highlights on their skin with underlying pink-reddish or blue tones in specific lighting conditions. In the screenshot you show, the tones in his face are midtones only - because it is in no direct lighting. :)
Maybe if this wasn’t such a widespread (and well-known!) issue in the dragon age fandom, and maybe if both of the Fenris pieces you’ve published didn’t show him as being pink and pale, I wouldn’t be so aggressive. But alas, it is, and they are. So I don’t feel the need to baby you, or be polite, or kind, to what I interpret as a very deliberate whitewashing of a character that is not white. Whitewashing contributes to colourism and is racist.
“Very aware of how lighting works”? Even in different lighting, at no point is Fenris as blindingly white as he is in your art. Maybe the top middle if you really stretch. If we wanna talk color theory, at no point in the game, in any lighting, does Fenris have pink undertones (you know, like white people do?). Again, that leads me to the assumption that this is a blatant and deliberate act of whitewashing, or you are sorely uninformed about how dark skin works. Given this fandom’s history, I will assume the first.
