How 'Vegan' is Vegan Food?
Genuine, serious question here.
Are fruits and vegetables that are grown using animal products still 'vegan'?
Soil additions such as blood and bone, fish meal, animal manures and crushed egg shells are essential for plant health and soil composition. They are commonplace in the home vegie garden and at least one or more would be used in all commercial growing situations including organic and biodynamic.
I can't imagine successful vegie growing without any animal input of some sort(including worms).
So, I'm keen on some comments here from vegan foodies and anyone who has successfully grown food crops without the presence of any animal based product.
Is 'vegan' food actually possible?
