Now today we are talking about our top 3 favorite things about weddings. This was almost impossible to decide on, but we tried our best! Check out what we have to say today in Straight from Soiree...
So I would like to think that everyone or almost everyone loves a wedding, but ME? I am captivated by them! I remember being as young as five years old and looking at photos of my mothers wedding since then I have daydreamed weddings. Here are my top three fav things:
# 1 The First Look. When we all stand and wait for the bride to emerge in her gorgeous gown. The anticipation kills me and I always manage to glance over at the groom to see his expression. Pure. Love. It gets me every time.
#2 The Toasts. I absolutely love to listen to the promises the bride and groom make to each other and getting a glimpse into how these two have made such an impact on their friends and family. We always get some hardy laughs and a few teary eyes.
#3 Dance. Who doesn't like to DANCE their pants off (this could actually happen) with the ones they care about most. This is the most entertaining and fun part of the night. Socializing, having drinks and soaking in all the love and happiness that surrounds us!
Since I can remember, I've always loved weddings. Maybe it was partly due to my Hispanic upbringing and the Latin wedding culture or maybe I was just born a party girl. Whatever the reason, all I know is that there was never a time I didn't enjoy a wedding. I love everything about them but If I had to choose my favorite things it would have to come down to these top three...
#1. My number 1 favorite thing about weddings is the dancing of course! From the first dance to the electric slide to the drunk uncle going crazy on the dance floor, this is the most entertaining and joyful part of the night and everybody gets to join. This is the time when people relax and expressively celebrate. It doesn't hurt that there's usually cake involved during the dancing hours either...
#2. Cocktail hour is also one of my favorites. And no, not just because of the booze (although open bars are magical) but more because of the excitement and the ambiance. Cocktail hour usually happens as the sun is setting when the light is just perfect and the air is filled with enthusiasm for what's about to come. #3. The bride walking down the aisle is one of the most magical moments in a wedding. The anticipation is always huge which makes for so much beautiful emotion and energy. I usually cry almost every time, even when I am watching complete strangers on TV!
It's borderline ridiculous how much I love weddings. The crazy thing is that it has always been this way! My love has just grown stronger and deeper over time. I could make lists upon lists of what I love, but I guess I can try and narrow it down...
#1 Vows. I'm not going to lie, this was definitely a toss up between the walk down the aisle and first look too. There is just something so powerful about the words that are said during the vows. Whether a couple writes their own or remains traditional, the words and promises always cause me to have tears in my eyes! I mean, isn't that what a wedding is all about?! Making these beautiful promises that will last a lifetime...
#2 Flowers. Even though to some people flowers may just be a minor detail, it is a huge deal to me! Whatever your budget or preferences, flowers can completely transform any space. They speak elegance and class. The best part is there are so many to choose from! No matter what your personality or color palette there is sure to be a perfect bloom to match.
#3 Personalize. Whether it be a simple monogram, custom cake topper, choreographed first danced, or themed favors, I love when couples bring their personalities into the wedding! It's a celebration of their love so it should be about them! I love the out of the box ideas that makes both the couple and the wedding unique! This is day is once in a lifetime so you should go all out!
