do u think there’s like.. moments when telemachus feels completely empty because he starts realizing that sharing feelings or even moments with antinous is complete insane for him, but he clings to it because of how useless or alone he feels normally? so, that way, when antinous reach for him but then discards him and repeats it, he knows its his way of manipulate him to depend on him, but he goes back because he likes to feel that someone actually needs him??

But yes absolutely it's insane and complex in feeling and even though I draw softer moments it's more indulgent in a 'why not bc I want to', but if I was to ever write my own take in a fic it'd be soooo layered and idk I don't have the brain power RN for coherent thoughts, haha. Sodom? Back to Gomorrah has really interesting implications about Dutch and Arthur's dynamic. As much as Dutch goes on about Arthur being his son, he's also his scapegoat when he needs to cover up his failures.

Because Valentine? That was Dutch's screw up, not Arthur's. Leviticus Cornwall wasn't there looking for Arthur; he was there looking for Dutch. Because Dutch insisted they rob his train. But the general consensus among the gang is that it was Arthur's fault they had to flee Horseshoe Overlook -- and it's not just Bill who thinks so. Immediately after this, Karen and Lenny back Bill up. They have it in their heads that Arthur is allowed to screw up but they aren't.

But Arthur didn't screw up. His only mistake was following Dutch's orders.

But what does Dutch value above all else? Loyalty, not to each other, not to their ideals, not to freedom from the tyranny of society; loyalty to Dutch Van Der Linde. And Arthur is so loyal to Dutch Van Der Linde that he allows himself to be scapegoated for problems he didn't cause. And after 23 years of being under Dutch's thumb, he probably doesn't even realize he's doing it.

"It's just one of those things." Dutch screws up. Arthur takes the heat. They throw all their resentment toward Dutch at him because resenting Dutch simply isn't an option. Dutch's cult of personality depends on them seeing him as the great leader and savior he presents himself as, and the leader Dutch presents himself as would never lead them astray. That's why he takes no blame for Blackwater. Had Arthur been there, he probably would have let him take the heat for that too.

I'd even go so far as to argue this is why Dutch takes "I'm afraid I must insist" so personally, but that's another rant for another day.

Someone should write a fanfic where Shedletsky goes to meet up with Builderman to catch up about old times n stuff, but after a week he never comes back (they got Forsakened), so Brighteyes sets off to look for them, trying to find any sign of what could’ve happened or where they are.

Maybe she ends up swapping places with Shed for a day (to explain the Brighteyes skin in game), or some clues to The Spectre’s existence, but at the end of the fic, Builderman nor Shedletsky ever actually make it back
