MNRE and DERC Ease Deployment of Solar power India
MNRE has extended the exemption from the ALMM List-II solar-cell requirement for eligible net-metering and open-access renewable projects until 31 December 2026, providing additional time for projects facing domestic cell supply constraints. Simultaneously, DERC has introduced a streamlined online approval framework with fixed connectivity deadlines of 25 days for installations above 10 kW and 10 days for smaller rooftop systems, while removing registration fees for domestic rooftop projects up to 10 kW.
The combined policy measures are designed to reduce supply-side and administrative hurdles, supporting faster rollout of distributed renewable-energy projects.
