He surprised himself as the scream silenced out, hands holding onto Jenny's shoulders as gently as possible to make the blonde face him. Mouth slightly parted and the blush that quickly took over his cheeks only getting worst.

Love her? Did he really?

Danny knew this was supposed to be a fling, something to take their minds off the stupid kids and unwind. Almost like the human version of smoking, but it had grown into something the counselor couldn't put his finger on.

Jenny was always on his mind, always on the corner of Danny's eye making him want to just stare at her all the time. It was something that while never truly admitting to himself, he didn't mind admitting it to her.

Normally he might’ve just not cared, but he was no stranger to unchecked burns from his experiences at work. That junk could get really nasty if you left it without proper care.
