I’ve been doing some testing while I wait for some parts to come in the mail. Delays are no fun, but the camera will be ready soon enough!

I had a stepper motor go out on my Solidoodle, so I decided to test out my other new (to me) 3d printer by making it a little stand to sit on.

Made a small planter, but the print failed ~9 hours in. I think we’ll still use it.

Still nursing the #solidoodle back to life with a few choice mods and tweaks. The biggest weakness I’ve found has been the bed and levelling it. Thanks to Gennaro Ltd providing me with various bits of glass for the head bed, far cheaper than the @ebay scalpers. PLA vs ABS

Why didn’t anyone tell me that PLA is clearly superior when it comes to preventing warping? I’m printing massive parts with zero warping (~200x200mm). These same parts would not even last more than an hour before they began to warp when printing with ABS. Can anybody tell me why I would want ABS over PLA? I would love to hear my fellow 3d printers opinions?
