I love playing Apex Legends and I love playing Mirage so here's some love for him and his decoys! I love solo queuing as him because you can really pull off some unbelievable BAMBOOZLES! :D . . . #mirage #eliotwitt #bamboozle #bamboozlesforthefoozles #apex #legends #fanart #apexlegendscomic #soloqueue #photoshopcomic https://www.instagram.com/p/CRDoY6qjpl1/?utm_medium=tumblr
I only play SoloQ and went on tilt, dropping to 52 one night. Then proceeded to climb back up to 60 after a few weeks.
Once again proving, players who complain about the system are placed where they belong. Ranking up is intended to be difficult if you don’t greatly exceed your skill margin! :]
After months of waiting, it’s official: Solo Queue is dead. Rioters have officially announced that it’s never coming back, despite promising earlier in the year that it would be eventually added alongside Dynamic Queue. Players have already taken to the Boards, some to mourn the loss of Solo Queue, and others to denounce Riot as cheats and liars.
And me? I really couldn’t care about the playerbase’s feelings. Regardless of the arguments brought against Dynamic Queue, it is still a healthier matchmaking system than Solo Queue ever was. Today’s State of the Meta will be talking about why Dynamic Queue was created in the first place, and why its existence negates the need for Solo Queue.
The largest difference between a 5-man premade and 5 solo players is one of mindset. The premade is going into the game prepared and ready to play as a team. They've likely already figured out roles, maybe even hashed out a strategy, and are planning to work together.
Meanwhile, the solo players don't know each other and - more importantly - don't trust each other. They don't know the skill level of their teammates, but naturally assume that it's below their own. They're more willing to fight each other on roles and champion picks because of this. Once in game, they're concerned about their own lane's welfare - not the welfare of other lanes. They don't care about how the team does, provided they win in the end. League is a team game, whether you queued individually or with four friends.
Additionally, Dynaqueue doesn't negate the ability to show off individual skill in the same way that pickup basketball doesn't. Regardless of who shows up to play and how many premades there are, players will always be able to demonstrate how good they are in-game.
There’ve also been a lot of arguments made against Dynamic Queue on the basis of how easy it is to boost other players. Boosting will occur no matter which queue you use. It's a common sight to see D1 players queueing with Bronze-ranked friends or clients on their smurfs and carrying them up to their desired ranking. Dynaqueue might have made such a process more efficient by allowing for said booster to queue with more players, but it hardly changed the fact that it happens to begin with.
At the end of the day, Dynamic Queue is a better experience for players. Sure, there are still kinks - Riot’s admitted as much, especially at high levels of play - but it offers enough advantages over Solo Queue that it is a worthy replacement.
