Calling Alronzo and Solrax done so I can stop messing with it lol. I'll probably make an actual ref sheet at some point for em, since Alronzo isn't quite a typical Mursaat (he's glideless thanks to his wings being forcibly removed, amongst other things). I also have a ton of my own headcanons for Mursaat too, since a lot doesn't really get elaborated on in the game on details about the race really.
Anyways, Alronzo is an Evoker, but his spirit that's summoned is a fiery void demon dragon he made a deal with to help him escape his prison (and help him deal with the loss of his wings). When Alronzo is using a glamour to look human, Solrax takes on the form of a funky fox as well.
Yes, Alronzo learned to cook because of the dragon, but discovered he actually does enjoy cooking and will happily cook for his friends.
He also gives great hugs with those beefy arms.
Got the flats down I think. Dunno how shading gunna go on Solrax tho. Alronzo shouldn't be bad tho. And yes, Alronzo's armor does have that much gradient on it in game. I love it lol.
And yes, I hc that this isn't Orrax, but a similar creature that's more fire-based. Probably Orrax's long lost cousin lol. Alronzo evoking him probably like "I have no fucking idea either."
I think they're ready for lines now. Lot of flame motif and swirlies in everything, cuz fire envoker lol (he doesn't envoke the fox, it's the fire void dragon instead in my background lol).
Alronzo is still fairly young for a mursaat, as he was in his 20s when Bava Nisos fell. However, before that happened, he had been imprisoned for some crimes against his own people (shortest story, he helped some prisoners escape as he wasn't too fond of being cruel). He had been stripped of his wings and most of his powers, and thrown into a stone prison at the edge of the city, where the only way in or out was thru a mursaat mirror. When Bava Nisos fell and the mirror network was broken, he was stuck for a very long time in his prison.
While the mirror network was broken, it didn't mean the mirror couldn't still be used by...others. The mirror had instead connected into a random area in the mists, altho Alronzo couldn't tell this at first, since all he ever saw was darkness in the mirror. One day tho, something finally peered back at him thru the mirror. Alronzo, desperate for any kind of escape, made a pact with the fiery dragonfiend Solrax, and the two are now connected with their life forces. Solrax had heard from its sibling Orrax that Tyria supposedly had a many great feasts to be had, but neither had been there yet to try em.
With Solrax imbuing Alronzo with power, he was finally able to escape his prison. However, he was still mostly stripped of his original mursaat powers, and couldn't glide around like before, or go invisible, and other such skills. It was frustrating having to learn a new set of skills, especially since the world had changed quite a bit since he had last seen it. Doing what he had seen the slaves do, he put one foot in front of the other, and learned to walk.
Alronzo did have a simple glamour spell to help with interacting with other races, altho it wasn't perfect, as his feet and hands still betrayed what he was, but in general it was enough to get around. He did eventually get a manticore cub that he raised to be his mount, named Bernard, which became his main mode of transportation.
I say bit of a write up, then I write several paragraphs. RIP. There's obviously way more to his story, but maybe when I get the colors done.
