When you're understood by another person, then that understanding strengthens your connections with others to properly build a relationship. They have a firm understanding of your identity at that point. However, to need validation of your identity means that you're confused of your own value, therefore you need others to confirm something about yourself. The key to confidence is understanding that you don't need others to get you to have validation. A truly confident person is aware of their own value and how that forms their identity.

You have to let go of your pride. Growth does not come from being blind with arrogance. Confidence has nothing to prove, but rather it just is.
