The Sun God and the World's Smartest Man
Hyperion had grown lonely watching the world from above. He missed his comrades of old. But this was a new world, with new opportunities. Maybe he could make up for past errors, begin again.
He flew up far above the clouds. Reaching the apex of his leap, framed by the sun itself, Mark became his dive back to earth. He fell like a blazing meteor from out of space. Moments before hitting the ground (which still put him far above even the world's tallest buildings) he pulled himself out of the dive and made his way to the Baxter Building.
"Maybe we can be allies again, old friend," Hyperion spoke to himself, "Maybe here, things will be different."
This Baxter Building was much brighter than what Mark had been used to. It seemed as if this Reed had become a good man, a family man. Mark smiled.
"I always knew there was good in you Reed..." but this wasn't his Reed. That man made his choices and he paid for them. But still, it hurt to know he couldn't save his dearest friend. But he was here now, another life, another destiny.
Hyperion found Reed's Lab and knocked out at the window.
"Dr. Richards, my name is Mark Milton, Hyperion of another earth. I thought we could talk."
ASSEMBLE: The Kang Incursion
Reed's fingers danced on separate keyboards, as he typed his curt, yet necessary call to arms to S.H.I.E.L.D., setting them to the vital task of evacuation and containment of the civilian populace and opened a comm channel to all Avengers frequencies and spoke his first words as an Avenger:
"Calling all available Avengers in the New York area, this is Mr. Fantastic. This is an all points priority alert. Kang The Conqueror has just materialized in Central Park. All available teams converge on his position. Iron Man and myself currently en route."
As his body reformed into his normal shape, he snatched a sleek black earpiece from a nearby work bench and tapped it. A barely luminous HUD beamed across Reed's eyes as the information that was being fed into The Foundation's sensor array was now miniaturized and displayed in front of Reed's right eye.
Mr. Fantastic strode toward the teleport, his uniform shifting from the inky black it was before to the stark white and black, emblazoned with his family's 4 symbol. His fingers commanded the teleport console and the machine flickered to life.
"Computer, keep the readings constant and patch all communication through Avengers Tower. Keep us all linked.",he said flatly, as he stepped through the portal and stepped out on the marble floor of Avengers Tower to see the gleaming armor of Iron Man.
"S.H.I.E.L.D. is taking care of the evacuation and I put out the call, Tony. Dare I say, assemble?"
Welcome To Tomorrow
The Foundation
Cosmic Avengers HQ.
As the world spun in front of his eyes, he felt the weight lift from him. He made it a point to do this every time he stepped foot onto the station. He couldn't remember who had said it, maybe Johnny or, even more likely, Sue, but whoever they were, the brought up a very important fact to The World's Smartest Man.
He has kept that world spinning, and sometimes he needed to stop and appreciate that. So, every time Reed came up to tinker on this station for the coming days, he made it a point to reward himself with a look at that beautiful, shining world below him. His home, his family's home, and his charge and responsibility to protect.
"Computer, Action Stations: Designate 1.",Reed breathed to the interface of the station, never taking his eyes off the planet.
They had been through hell. The Skrulls, The Civil War...it was all looking better until Scott. Poor, poor Scott Summers. So, plans were made; actions were taken. Reed Richards was tired of just shutting himself away in a lab, while he's friends fought and died. He was disgusted with himself for not being more active. He could help, not only behind the scenes but in the field, so Reed took action. He came to Tony Stark with the idea of the Cosmic Avengers and now here stood Reed, in his new Avengers HQ/higher learning institute.
The lights of the station, and the foyer in which Reed stood, darkened lightly and screens flickered all throughout the room. Deep space telemetry readouts, scanners that showed clear readings pointed a full 360 degrees around the station, and satellite imagery of the Earth below all over the globe. Mr. Fantastic has turned this station in the world's first in orbit Avengers Tower.
Reed couldn't help but smile at his work. "It's not terrible..."
