A great morning in Clarks today with the 20 shortlisted students from the two week shoe design project back in November. The students from the Foundation Art and Design and the Extended Diploma Art and Design courses made their way up to the Clarks factory with their design boards, in heavy rain, and met with the panel of 7 industry professionals in one of the impressive shoe presentation spaces. The students then individually presented their work to the Clarks team of shoe designers and product line managers and the confidence and quality of the presentations was outstanding. Well done to all of the students involved.

After the presentations, while the designers made their final selection for a work placement shortlist, we were all taken on a tour of the factory. We looked at the many different departments and technical processes that are involved in shoe design and were also lucky to meet Jonno, and other former Strode students,  who talked to us about their work in the company.
