And thank you for asking! For Something, Everything, the scene that I definitely had in mind was the one where the reader realizes what Wanda has done to her and challenges her. These lines in particular were what I really based it on:
“You tried to make me forget.” Your voice feels unsteady. “You lied to me.”
Her words are calm and collected. It scares you how composed she is. “I had no choice.” It feels like another challenge.
You take a step towards her, mind clear and an aura of power radiating from you. You accept her challenge. Your hands glow a vibrant purple. “I don’t like being controlled.”
