Nero mourning Kyrie like she’s already dead, because he’s so terrified of losing her.

he makes himself sick with terror and drives himself mad. he goes through the grief of loss, even when she is right next to him; preemptive. afraid. laden with dread and an awful, sickening feeling in his stomach that’s convinced him that he’s already lost her. thick like tar and corroding him like acid, bubbling in his veins.

he can’t believe she’s alive. not after watching her die in the Saviour. he thought… he’d known in that moment, he was convinced Kyrie was gone. that he’d failed.

who’s to say Nero won’t fail again?

Kyrie notices, because obviously. Nero wasn’t subtle with his big emotions, even if he refused to speak the specifics and say exactly what was lingering in his mind. ​Kyrie wants to help, she does—but at the same time, she’s so tired of Nero’s intensity and unexplained fretting. his melancholy. she’s afraid too, why can’t he see that?
