Velox had been super nervous about meeting his new unit, and stepping into their barracks after having a good lunch with Cato took some guts. The entire team was there. Nine people, which was new to Velox, who was used to a unit of fifteen. Also they flew in pairs- and not static pairs, but on a rotation at that -and not trios here, which was also weird after so many years of doing it one way. Turned out he didn’t need to be worried at all. Their Squad Captain came over at once and told him that they knew about the shit Velox had been through with Blix and the others. That Velox didn’t have to worry about that in this squad. And very clearly he didn’t. Everyone was so welcoming and warm and supportive that Velox just found himself a little numb with relief. He texted Cato a quick message after going through all the introductions.
[text] New squad is great. Idk why I was so nervous. So relieved.
From the corner of his eye he saw Dius leave the still opened door. He hadn’t even seen the agent watching them. But Velox didn’t have time to go after him, as one of his new squad members caught his attention.
Dius left the happy union behind, calmed to know they accepted Velox. Not that he’d thought that there would be any trouble, but just for his own peace of mind he’d wanted to make sure. Right now the agent was on his way to find the other boy. He had something for him. So he steered his steps towards the guts of the ship.
