Siska let his hands catch the back of Cato's elbows in a gentle hold, almost no pressure at all, just the presence of his fingertips. "You asking the hard questions, I see how it is," he snorted. "Had you asked me, before last night. I'd have said you. No doubt. Didn't think Dius was going to miss me if I left, didn't think he needed me even at all. He was never going to give me anything serious. But..." Siska's eyes fell down between them, landing somewhere at Cato's chest. "He's... Broken, right now. And maybe he's still incapable of giving me what... I've wanted for so long with him. But I can't tell him no when he so clearly is struggling. Fucking terrified of being left behind. So... No tipping. At all. Right now."
His heart squeezed painfully when Siska said that. Before last night. Even as Siska touched him so gently, even as he hinted at certainty. Before last night Siska would have said him. Things changed so fast all the time... Spirits, he didn't want this to end. Not now followed with a big feeling of not ever. "He needs you. Not like we both haven't been there."
"He does..." Siska didn't know what it was that flashed past Cato's eyes. But at once he wanted to snatch it up and throw it into the sea. "If I left him now, he'd go off the deep end. I'm sure. But..." He felt like such a jerk, to both of them. Not able to promise either of them anything. "I can't Imagine- Last night, I tried to imagine, not having you by my side. And I just can't. Like cold all through my chest, can't breathe, just thinking about it."
