It's interesting how Gabriel adapts around V1 when they're written in a shippy way. V1 sometimes doesn't reciprocate his feelings. Sometimes it does, but it doesn't express itself in the healthiest ways.

Gabriel takes what he's given, latches onto crumbs but doesn't starve. He's always in a position where he can't ask for more because he doesn't know any better, possibly.

What if Gabriel begins to feel empty? What happens when he misses the past? What happens when he grows scared of the uncertain future not planned by his father? Having a relationship with V1 is entering in uncharted territory, and honestly I don't think V1 would be a good partner right away. What would happen if his new life isn't what he wants?

Would V1 learn from him and try to change/mold too, like he did for them, to make him happier?

i just think that some of the critics of this season are kinda failing to engage with it on the level it's asking you to-- it straight up tells you in the first episode that facts are irrelevant and feelings are paramount it doesn't matter if lestat has the right to be angry or hurt by the book it only matters that he is
