Pearl couldn’t help but start to giggle. Dinosaurs had disappeared long before gems had even considered Earth for anything. She know Rose knew that. She loved learning Earth’s history. “You could just kiss me.” But the line had been kinda cute and Pearl kissed Rose because technically Rose was wrong.

He stood absolutely still, unable to find words or breath to speak. This was her. This was really her? After all this time... After all he... They... This...

He hadn’t retaught himself how to breathe yet again when she picked him up and held him tight in her arms. He was still, trying to find the words, the thoughts, the emotions to respond. And yet, even if he couldn’t consciously come to any conclusion, tears spilled down his cheeks.

Slowly, he wrapped his arms around her the best he could and rested his head against her shoulder. This... is what a hug from his mom felt like? This was... So different. So unusual from everything else.

            “I don’t understand...”

Finally, he found the strength to pull away from her again, meeting with her gaze, again.

            “How are you... How is this... possible?”
