It’s still surprises me when a painting turns out nothing like I envisioned and ends up being a true illustration of what I’m feeling. This started out with bright pinks and blues , very light and happy and when I had almost finished I hated it. Nothing about it felt real. I took this colored called bloodstone it’s almost a black purple and began to cover the entire page with it. It gave it almost a dirty grungy look. I then proceeded to use that same color and go over each of the butterflies changing their pretty and light color to a dark dreary look. When I finished I added a few more dark butterflies and as I looked at it the word “hidden” popped into my head . There are days I feel like I’m hidden in all the mess, the messy tangle of feelings and emotions from life. Hidden from all that’s beautiful and bright even though all that is right before my eyes. College is starting to get a little more frustrating and exhausting. I failed a math test which brought my grade down an entire letter. I feel constantly worn out and a little sad. I miss my family, I miss my friends. I included these photos because the only things really helping me get through this last month before I go home are my roommates. They're so funny and fun and great--and we've had our fair share of tears, laughter and smiles together and WOW that was an extremely sappy sentence. Regardless, I'm happy with my roommates--I love them. Not so happy with my life. December 9th people! It's coming up.
