Hi Mom! (Luthor!Reader)
Requested by anonymous for “Son of Lex Luthor and meeting your mother... Loki.”
You don’t have the best relationship with your father.
For one thing, he’s a known supervillain. When your dad is in and out of jail for crimes he did commit due to being a xenophobe and hater of aliens... that tends to put a damper on your time together.
But when you come to your father’s office... he’s meeting someone.
“Sorry, I didn’t realize you were busy.” you mutter, moving to leave.
But it isn’t your father who responds.
“Well, well, well. Y/N... all grown.” the man he’s speaking to purrs. And you recognize him. Loki. The Asgardian who attacked New York and revealed to the world that there are hostile aliens out there. The one who gave your dad’s Superman-hating ways a voice and a platform for the terrified and the assholish to follow and be swayed by.
“I didn’t say you could speak to him,.”
“I came to finally meet my son, Lex.” Loki says. “You aren’t going to stop me.”
“Why now?”
But Loki chuckles and stands, ignoring Lex. “Hello, my child.”
You frown. “Your what now?”
Lex massages his temples. “Y/N... meet Loki. He’s... well, he’s your mother.”
For an instant, Loki’s form shines with green light and in his place stands a very familiar woman with similar green eyes, raven hair, and a devious smirk. You recognize her from the single photo Lex has of the three of you. And then she glows and the male Loki is back.
“Oh... okay, then.” you mumble.
Loki nods. “I can tell this is a lot. But I am here to... reconnect with my child.”
“Yes,” Lex says sarcastically. “Your stint in New York certainly shows an outpouring of parental feeling. And REconnect would imply there was any connection in the first place.
“I was... suffice it to say I was rather out of sorts then. Time has done its good work on my mind.”
Lex raises an eyebrow. “Ah. Excuse me if that doesn’t exactly provide me much in the way of consolation.”
Loki flashes a smirk at you. “I’m afraid both your parents are inclined towards... loquacity.”
Lex narrows his eyes.
“I’ll let you have some time to process all this and talk with your other parent.” Loki chuckles. “But I will return. I do hope... I do hope I shall be able to show you Asgard. Your grandmother would be delighted to meet you.”
Lex frowns as rainbow light floods the room and Loki vanishes, sucking his teeth at the Celtic knot pattern burned into the expensive carpet. You feel pretty confident Loki knew exactly what he was doing.
“Your mother was a... a presence.” Lex whispers. “I loved her, truly. Him. Them. You know, Loki always seemed to understand. They never asked me to change my nature or become... well, a good person. We weren’t good, but we were good together. We understood each other.
“Y/N, you have been a good thing. The one good thing I have created. I don’t know if I can change at this point. To be perfectly honest, I don’t know that I want to, even if it means losing you. But I’ll be damned if I let Loki take you from me. I haven’t seen them since you were born, Y/N. Whoever they are now... I don’t know them.
“You know I support you. No matter what. Even if you want to meet Loki again. Even if you never want to see either of us again. I’d even support you if you wanted to join that Justice League and see me put behind bars forever. Whatever I’ve done, whatever I’ve been to you.... I just hope you know that.”
Lex squeezes past you. For a moment you wonder if he wants a hug but he quickly exits.
“You... let me know your decision. Son.”
