HAPPY PLACE - SONG COLLAB!
Auditions OPEN! Deadline: extended to Tuesday 7th April (parts are being selected!)
This collab is delegated into two different versions — one that’s audition-based, and a second that’s split into parts, line-by-line. More information below the cut!
Considering how this is vastly different to my last collab, here’s what you need to know!
Unlike the last collab where it was a first-come, first-serve basis where parts got taken VERY quickly, this collab will be based on AUDITIONS! In order to claim a part in either of the collabs, you must audition.
In order to do so, you’ll need to sing the parts assigned in the video of the character you’re interested in. These will be listed underneath the rules to make it easier for you to understand which parts suit you. You can then submit your audition by either reblogging to this post with your video or posting your audition.
PLEASE NOTE: Any auditions, whether on your main blog or reblog MUST contain the tag #nov’s happy place so that I can easily find your audition. If your account does not allow me to message you directly, I will not be able to contact you privately, and this means you’ll need to post your audition on your blog so I can comment.
Alternatively, if you don’t want to be a part of the character selections, and instead want a smaller part, you can simply state ‘For the line-by-line’ collab beside your audition.
If you manage to get the character part after your audition, then congratulations! You’ll be added to our cast list and will be expected to record the required backing vocals for your character and any other lines that aren’t included in your audition. You might be asked to re-record your lines in full, so bare that in mind!
However, since there will be separate deadlines for the character and line-by-line collabs, any characters who have yet to record their lines for full submission will have a backup, which is essentially an understudy who will record any missing lines (or if necessary in case of someone dropping out), will record all of their lines.
You might be thinking, Nov, how do I claim a part on the line-by-line collab? And to that I say, good question! If you do not manage to claim a character part, assuming not all parts are taken, you will receive another part as shown in the line-by-line video as selected by me. Trading parts IS allowed, but enthusiastic permissions must be given by both sides and I should be contacted in the process.
Also, funnily enough, Zooble doesn’t have very many lines in this song, so anyone who wants to audition for their part will need to complete either Jax’s or Caine’s parts to audition, which will mostly be the collective vocals or background vocals for our fellow altos.
Here are some things to consider before you audition! :
1) Please consider whether or not you have decent audio quality when auditioning! You might have an excellent audition and voice, but I won’t be able to offer any parts if you have a poor quality, meaning audible cuts or background noise. Parts are recorded as vocals-only, like my last collab if you’d like to see other people’s submissions as a model!
2) Trading parts, as mentioned before, is allowed! All I ask is that both parties agree with enthusiasm and that I am notified as soon as possible. All trading of parts will be cut off by a date to be confirmed. Any trading after the decided date is prohibited and the original parts are expected under the assumption that all parts have been distributed by this point.
3) Please do not ask for a particular part! If you aren’t happy with the part you’ve received, you can let me know and I can see if there are any other’s available, but I am not obligated to change your part. Note that I’m hosting these collabs by taking my own personal time out to make these things happen. I don’t owe anyone anything if you are disrespectful to me or other singers. We’re here to have fun! If you don’t like your part and there’s nothing I can do to help, there will be others who would be better suited.
4) If you would like to withdraw from either collab, let me know AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! Withholding this information will only cause problems down the line which will make it harder for me, you and other members. Being considerate is key!
5) You must use the tag #nov’s happy place under any auditions or submissions, otherwise, you risk not being included. Everyone has an equal opportunity to participate, so make the most of it! :)
6) If you recieve a particular part, you may send in multiple takes. Let me know if there is a personal preference.
7) You may clip your part for voice acting/singing/voiceover demos! However, if your clip includes another singer, please obtain their permission before use or cut their voice out.
8) If you’re taking part in either collab, you’ll be contacted by me and possibly others wanting to draw your sona, or in the events of trading parts, etc. Please ensure that you are able to be tagged or DMed by me so I can contact you.

for Caine: Intro dialogue, Part 23, Part 24 (part 3 + outro if you want additional ones)
for Pomni: Intro dialogue, Part 2, Part 6, Part 12
for Ragatha: Part 2, Part 9
for Jax: Part 2, Part 21
for Kinger: Part 2, Part 10
for Gangle: Part 2, Part 20
for Zooble: Part 2 + either Jax or Caine’s parts (can be both), ‘Ooo-oo-ooo’ from end of Part 2 to show backing vocals skills, as well as 14+15
for backing vocalists: any part with “multiple users” written under it, eg. 14, 15 etc.
These collabs will be posted on my blog, but potentially also on my YouTube channel. If this is the case, please let me know if you are okay with this once you have obtained a part. If you’d like to draw your sona for the collab, let me know and send w/ a transparent background!
