Suoh ducked into an alley, wiping the blood away from his brow.  He really couldn’t afford to lose any more at the moment.  The distant howl wrapped around the crumbling building, the noise akin to a freight train sending ancient rebar and crumbling concrete down onto the street.  He hadn’t expected a Wolf. Not this close to their home base. 

“Command, come in,” Suoh said, watching as several Hairs -- the footmen of the wolf -- dropped out of formation to start scoping the streets.  He needed to get to his Coffin now. 

“We’re sending out a team to get the Wolf off your back. But you’re going to need to run. This area isn’t marked for this level of combat. If you get in your Coffin now you may bring the whole level down atop you.” 

Something about the disparity forced gasping laughs out of Suoh. While the voice seemed calm and measured, he could tell his handler was terrified

“That’s what I told Songmin. Hopefully you’ll get someone with more sense than both of us in the next generation.” 

“No... I just got you four. I’m not losing any more idols.” he murmured. “Head about two kilometers north. We’ve dropped your coffin there, it’s charged and ready. Maybe the noise will let us go in and get Songmin.” 

“Oh, Songmin will be fine. His idiocy got us here, and we all know that God looks out for fools and children. He’s a bit of both.”  As he said it, another Coffin roared into life in the South, the giant mechanized suit glowing with dark blue light as it withdrew a brilliant sword of pure light from its side. 

“See. idiocy, fools, and children.” 

“So much needing a distraction.”
