6.  a song that reminds you of your favorite book

Running Up That Hill by Kate Bush reminds me of Wuthering Heights more than the actual song inspired by the book does lol. It also reminds me of Linger a lot. ;eye-moji;

I have one three for Captive Prince too. Exeunt by The Oh Hellos make me think of the storyline between the end of Book I and Book II.

Then we have Thus Always to Tyrants which I always imagined playing during  the last part of Book III, when the Regent is beheaded and everything is chaotic.

Lastly, there is Dear Wormwood, but that makes me think of Laurent’s life and character development. (and a bit of myself, too)

8. the best song from your favorite album

This is not fair. I have so many favourite albums. One of my favs from 2020 was SAWAYAMA by Rina Sawayama. Top 1 song (for me, at least) is Bad Friend (and boy does it remind me of Linger!Nicaise)  It’s so poppy and has that sort of cyberpunk retro feeling with the synths in the background almost competing with Rina’s high notes. It’s SO good.

9. a song that makes you want to cry

All good songs make me want to cry. Sometimes I listen to a song so good I feel like I’m going to burst into tears or throw up or both just because I get this feeling at the bottom of my stomach. A mix of excitement and admiration and awe and unaltered, raw love.

There is one, though. And maybe you’ll recognize it from the soundtrack of The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby (!!!!) and also the soundtrack of How to Get Away with Murder. It’s No Fate Awaits Me by Son Lux and Faux Fix. I can’t even begin to explain the goosebumps. The build up of the freaking string section???????????? GOD, JUST STAB ME.

So, no fate awaits me (Without you, without you, without you)

It takes me back to long, lonely winters spent going back and forth with the metro in Budapest. I was so miserable, and I kept thinking, ‘But what about how I feel? What about my happiness? What about everything I’ve done and everything I continue to give? Is it all for nothing?’

12. A song to listen to whilst you lie in a meadow

"Josefin” by First Aid Kit - This just feels right.  I can’t explain why.

19. A song that you can imagine listening to in an abandoned church ( if it isn’t hozier im judging you, but whatever )

"Flee As A Bird” by The Secret Sisters - Everything about this fits.  Lyrics, vibe, harmonies.  All of it.

23. A song that when you listen to it you’re transported to a liminal space, time is pointless and you must sit and wallow in the void that remains

“Your Hand In Mine” by Explosions in the Sky - This song is like 8 minutes long, but honestly doesn’t feel like it.

Arya/Gendry

A song they would slow dance to: “Wild Horses” by the Rolling Stones (Liz Gillies cover). Arya’s not the type to slow dance, but I’m sure she could be persuaded if the circumstances were depressing and Gendry seemed like he really needed her to just sway back & forth and shut up for once. 

A song they sing along to in the car: (would have to be a modern-day au but there are plenty of those) Gendry drives and they scream “A Little Less Sixteen Candles, A Little More Touch Me” by Fall Out Boy at the top of their lungs and Gendry pretends that he doesn’t secretly want to do exactly what the chorus says and “kiss her, kiss her” 

A song that neither one can listen to after a fight/breakup: The first time they get separated in season 3: “Look After You” by The Fray. After  the finale: “Whatever It Takes” by Ron Pope. 

A song that Person A hates but Person B loves: Arya loves to sing the filthiest, rudest bar songs with the most curse words in them (thanks Tormund and Pod) and thinks it’s hilarious that Gendry is always trying to get her to quit it 

The songs they would serenade each other with at karaoke: Not exactly karaoke but if GoT was a musical, the scene where she turns down the proposal would be “The Perfect Home” from The Civility of Albert Cashier (which can be found here)

A song Person A would sing in the shower while Person B listens in: Arya hums a lullaby Catelyn used to sing to the Stark children while she washes her hair and Gendry thinks it’s adorable (she definitely knows he’s listening in of course but she lets him have this) 

A song with lyrics that perfectly describe their relationship: “Like Real People Do” by Hozier for the happy times and “Don’t Miss Me?” by Marianas Trench for sad times (for which I made an edit) 

A song that would play during a love scene between them: “Work Song” by Hozier if it’s more intimate and “Only You” by Little Mix if it’s more of a passionate kinda deal

A song that relates to an inside joke between them: “Touch Me” from Spring Awakening (not gonna go too much into details but it’s the “where the figs lie” line) 

A song that relates to an AU I’ve created in my head involving this pair: “Hey #2” from Next to Normal. High School AU where after being friends forever, they sleep together, Gendry is ready to commit, and then Arya panics and ghosts him, EXCEPT they end up running into each other periodically and it’s super awkward and Gendry keeps trying to ask her to the dance
