SO—I made an au based around the EXEs being eldritch horrors beyond our comprehension and also being embodiments of different concepts/things.
I’ve currently sketched out Lord X’s and Rewrite’s true forms, which will be the first thing you see under the cut. I will make another post of more sketches of true forms and finished true forms, and then I’ll probably make a few more posts with all of the true forms.

(Every EXE has a sort of ‘skin suit sonic’ even if humans don’t occupy vessels in their specific game instance, which is why their true forms are often very fleshy or liquid-like).
Every EXE is an eldritch being, AllFather being the oldest. The EXEs have times of peace and times of war when they fight for AllFather’s favor. AllFather’s favor means that they will resume place as the most well-known and strongest EXE, which is currently Lord X due to being tied to one of the “first examples of an exe”—along with Crimson X for resembling 2011x. 2011X is Lord X, but sometimes Lord X can physically manifest his younger form.
EXEs are embodiments of different concepts, scientific stuff, etc.
Full EXEs or embodiments often represent two or more things.
(Color-coded names might change their colors, it’s just to differentiate the different EXEs and make it easier to find a specific EXE. More EXEs will come in the future once I really start digging around the sonic oddities fandom. I might misgender some exes so I default to they/them and he/him for most—please inform me if I do misgender them so I can fix the issue).
(I might also change the EXE’s embodiments in the future to better fit them).
AllFather is the embodiment of energy and time
Lord X is the embodiment of space and oblivion, as well as art
Majin is the embodiment of chaos and matter
Rewrite is the embodiment of fate and photons (light)
End is the embodiment of suffering and the end, as well as death
2017X is the embodiment of hope and kinetic energy
Crimson X represents arrogance and consciousness
Then there are lesser embodiments: often created by stronger exes or coming into existence later on: known as fragmented embodiments. They only represent one or two things.
EXE/Faker is the embodiment of revenge, while the seven guardians are embodiments of their respective emotions.
Genesis X is also a fragmented embodiment due to once being a human and embodies pain.
No More Innocence (idk if that’s what they’re actually called) is the embodiment of corruption.
Sonic.EYX is the embodiment of hunger
Just because embodiments embody human emotions or concepts doesn’t make them weaker than others, it might even make them stronger.
they toy with human souls and torment them to first, gain more recognition and power, as well as to entertain themselves, as immortal minds will decay if they remain stagnant (which is why End is dormant due to not having contact with human souls for a long time). They also fight each other for the same purpose, for fun.
If they ever would let a human best them in a game, it would be for the fun of it.
They don’t have much culture, so they often participate in human actions to entertain themselves; drinking, hanging out together and chatting about events. torturing human souls with various man made torture methods and even some of their own methods, etc.
Little tidbits/information about the EXEs! (About EXEs as a whole and individual EXEs)
2017x is considered the weakest full embodiment due to considering himself a mortal
Lord X has a soft spot for Crimson X due to looking like his younger self.
End has been dormant for a long time due to their own embodiment of suffering hurting them too much.
None of the exes have challenged AllFather due to him being the oldest EXE, even if he hasn’t been seen by mortals before 2011x
Majin never picks a side—he’s a wildcard—but most often he leans towards helping Lord X, he’s mostly bored most of the time and doesn’t care for appeasing anyone
Rewrite is often the most merciful, or extremely cruel, often tricking their victims by leading them victims to a false sense of security before ending them. Unlike the other EXEs who let you know you’re screwed over extremely fast. Rewrite also attempts to portray god several times instead of just flat out saying the classic line “I am God”.
Faker has become a loner due to getting abandoned. Lord X was never angry with him, just disappointed and dissatisfied with him not appreciating the art of suffering.
The EXEs have no concept of gender, often slotting into male genders due to their skin-suits—sonic—being a guy.
the seven guardians serve Lord X with undying loyalty, another reason why he remains unchallenged by the other EXEs (seven fragmented embodiments can be extremely strong together).
Lord X embodies art as well due to becoming more sophisticated and treating suffering as art.
The reason the exes often get into disputes is because at times they feel like they don’t care for weaklings in their ranks, but at times they will tolerate them.
Keep in mind, I DEFINITELY don’t pick favorites there is no reason Lord X has the most information out of everyone here!!!! TRUST ME!!!! (I’m lying guys don’t trust me)
