It was just after most terrifying shoot out that you had been a part of since joining the team, and for Sonja the scariest thing she had seen since she had lost her partner on the job mere months ago. You didn’t always get along but when you did it seemed to be in moments when you had faced something terrible together. Your arms were wrapped around each other as you both panted, trying to remember that you were still alive, the bad guys were gone and you had made it out of there alive. 

“It’s alright Sonja, I’ve got you” you whisper and she nods her head as she tilts her head back to look into your gaze

“I’ve got you too Y/N”.

I don’t watch You, but I keep up with news about it and I’m so happy to see Shalita Grant getting the respect she deserves from the crew and audiences alike

I knew about all this before, but I’m glad it’s coming up again now there’s more attention on her and a bigger number of people to learn what happened.

TWO MONTH LATE MINI RANT

I’m soooooo fucking late to the party but I just found out NCIS: New Orleans was CANCELLED and I’m so mad????? It’s one of my favorite shows and was genuinely one of the best written shows I’ve ever seen but in the last season it went soooooo far off the rails. Hannah and Carter?? Literally the epitome of a forced romance. No romantic chemistry at all. No build up. They were like “oh wait actually you’re kind of hot lol” and then they hooked up like once and in the next scene/ episode they were talking about COMMITMENT?? After Carter’s whole 350k word slow burn “letting people into my life instead of pushing everyone out and admitting the people I work with are actually very important to me” arc??? That wasn’t even fully finished??? afsywyiudgaidg I can’t–

And don’t even get me STARTED on the whole Dwayne and Sasha thing. Bullshit. I literally cringed during all the flashbacks of them together 🤮🤮And giving Dwayne a son he knew nothing about?? Making him an absent father?? Poking holes in the nearly PERFECT Dwayne x Rita ship??? Making Dwayne so much like Cassius after all the progress he made towards avoiding making the same mistakes??? If you’re going to put his character arc in such a MASSIVE downswing there better be an equally massive (but still well paced and well deserved) upswing in the future. BUT NOW THE SHOW IS CANCELLED SO WE’LL NEVER FUCKING GET THAT. 

I’m sure there’s more I didn’t like (I remember being really unhappy watching all the plot bits) but it’s been a while since I’ve seen the show. Those are definitely the biggest ones though. I’m also forever salty that the strongly hinted “Hannah not being totally straight” subplot was never expanded on but that’s a rant for another day.
