Do you ever wonder how master Kohga got to be head of the Yiga? The dude is a certified disaster and he's not very good at fighting, and I get that he's like, old or whatever. But the Yiga MUST have had better canidates for the job.
K so I have a theory bout him anon, because yeah I have wondered.
So obviously he's got the benefit of having secret family techniques, so Kohga has a family history when it comes to being chief of the Yiga. But what if Yiga magic is more like Sheikah technology then, say, the thunder helm. And technology requires mantinice.
Now Kohga isn't the most physically capable of the Yiga, he's actually a bit of a nerd. So what if he got the job because he was the best with the technology? Think about it? Who do you want in charge: a fantastic fighter who can't repair their own equipment, or a so-so fighter who can fix and build their own stuff? I would pick the guy who can keep the gear in working order.
Bonus thought: The only reason Soogah hasn't taken over as the top banana is because his tech skills are sub-par, but Kohga has hope for the kid.
