I hope this “Soon” is still in the first episode of Netflix’s The Sandman. I don’t care if people mistakenly think Morpheus is quoting the meme or imitating the meme. I think it’s time people learned where the meme actually came from.
Even knowyourmeme.com doesn’t realize a 1989 comic book had the “Soon” meme pre-meme Hell, Sandman might not even be the first but you’ll notice most of the pictures for the meme are cat eyes peeking behind glass, much like Morpheus trapped in his crystalline prison.
