If the Duffer Brothers directed IT, they probably would’ve:
Ignored the Cyrano trope and have Bev end up with Bill post-January embers.
Ben just has to get over Bev and end up alone.
Had Bev tell Bill he’s the only one who ever understood her.
Forget about Bill losing Georgie and make Bill’s fears in part 2 about Bev.
Reduced Reddie to a joke or also a crush Richie had to get over.
Handled Stan’s Jewish identity terribly or erased it completely (Stanley Kubrick style with Eyes Wide Shut vs the book it was adapted from).
Made us root for Bev’s abusive husband because, oh, look what he went through!
Made Bev the sacrifice instead of Eddie.
Made Richie tell the entire town of Derry his dirty little secret.
Portray Eddie’s relationship with his medically abusive mom’s doppelgänger as true love.
Sideline Mike Hanlon and say in an interview nobody cares about what happens to him, he’s going to be fine.
Made Pennywise indirectly win by having the Losers go back to their 27-years lives when they were avoiding their fears.
Alluded to or included that book scene in the sewer where Bev made the boys hand her their v-cards
Do you see how ridiculous that story sounds?
Thank god they didn’t land IT, actually.
