slippage is the bane of my existence, I’ve recently started using more “tools of the trade” geared towards stopping it but it’s a never ending battle, most of it is caused by handling of the pelt I don’t get to do unfortunately. Even with that considered it’s always a bit random. I’m tanning a coyote now I was very much hoping didn’t slip but I wouldn’t be surprised if she does, she was shipped poorly and green-bellied pretty bad but she’s so far been fantastically behaved, meanwhile a red fox that I didn’t have much concern about and a ranch fox I did not expect to slip at all both have minor facial slips, it is common with foxes but…so frustrating. Recently I’ve been seeing more slips than I usually do but with no explanation, the only change I’ve made in my methods is the introduction of products intended to stop slippage. I really don’t know, I’m religious about having PH checks and whatnot so it’s just something I have to keep an eye on and treat more preemptively for I suppose
