--- MAGGIE laughed, as she flipped the final pancake to be added to the tower. she was simultaneously cooking and rocking HERSHEL against her hip. “what? you didn’t know that i was gonna be a professional SINGER, honey?” maggie sent a wink her husband’s way, where he was sitting on the couch. she had to truly project her voice, because at the moment, she was singing along to an ELMO MUSICAL track that hershel was giggling along to; it was his favorite soundtrack, and maggie was not about to deny him the experience, no matter how annoying elmo’s voice became after several minutes. the joy of seeing her son smile drowned out negative emotion entirely. she looked like a total GOOFBALL at the moment: flipping pancakes, cradling her boy, and singing along to sesame street. however, from her husband’s expression, she knew that he would have her no other way. “what do you think, babe?” she called out, as she turned off the stove. “should i quit my career as a senator and join elmo and the gang ON TOUR?”
