Strategizing before the first gym
It's always a good idea to have a strategy before facing the gyms of a region. A new teammate joins the party in the form of a shiny eevee.
My Leafeon in my Pokemon Platinum replay hated me so I wanted to draw the angry little guy. He also knew Shadow Ball (hatched with the move as an Eevee). Even wearing a Soothe Bell didn't really help but I managed to get enough Gym badges eventually to earn his respect. But there's nothing more stressful than going up against a Gym when one of your strongest Pokemon doesn't listen to you.
