God's commandments are a way of life with God. Man cannot fully fulfill God's commandments, and that is why grace is needed. And this is the work of prayer. Sometimes, a person fulfills God's commandments and lives the ethos of the crucified Christ, and then they feel God's grace without praying, or they pray out of love. Unceasing prayer is not the goal (when done mechanically), but the goal is our communion with God.
