“set the cursed sculpture free. you have 60 minutes. hmm...” they mused as they read over the mission text, trying to piece out what to do next. the moyai statue was close, and from there, hachiko wasn’t too far off. they’d been purposefully placed nearby by the reapers, so hopefully it would be one of those two. 60 minutes wasn’t very much time, after all.
“beat, where do you think we should-” they were cut off with a small shriek as noise jumped at them out of nowhere, their partner immediately stepping in as if by instinct to fend them off with his skateboard. a quiet “phew“ escaped rhyme once the ordeal was over, turning to beat with a shy smile.
it was only their second day with him, but he reminded them so much of their brother back home. though... they tried not to think about him for too long. they knew how important he was to them, but at the same time, ever since this game had started, they’d had such a hard time recalling things about him. they couldn’t even remember his face or what he looked like...
“that was really close... i guess i should have kept my eyes on the streets and not my phone. um...” it wasn’t like them to get all shy like this, but... “thank you, beat... you remind me a lot of my brother...” they clutched the necklace around their neck, searching for the comfort it brought. “when we get out of this, i hope you get to meet him...”
