still wondering why lin is labeled 'king' in her ruling years . did she fake likkkeeee being a man to get the position ? mulan type shi ? or did she gen use he/him at the time ?

It's because her culture has a fucked up leadership roles! (also they would probably all have different names but im still thinking)

They aren't linked to gender, but to the roles one performs:

Queen is responsible for outer working of the pride - protection and relationships outside of the pride/kingdom, usually the most aggressive woman. They are responsible for getting the fighters readyfor fights and usually are the entourage/chaperone for hunts. The most feared figure in the tribe, respected more than anyone. (i flipped the qender roles in this bc i caaaan) (also Lin's maternal grandfather is a Queen i think.)

King is responsible for inner workings, for keeping everyone feeling safe, sated and happy. Teach kits about hunting and fighting, figure out the logistics of the tribe ,etc. Protected and revered, members of the tribe ususally feel very safe with them and their world will outweigh the Queens if they make sense. (Lin's fraternal grandpa would be a king if he was born a forest-child.)

Monarch is every leader that has to/chooses to combine those responsibilities, and they usually lean towards being a king or a queen anyways. (rare in Lin's childhood, after bbecomes more popular. If sheknew that was an option she would've called herself a Monarch)

Not in charge so much as helping those in charge - Priests/Healers They are responsible for spiritual dealings(oh please spirit of our lands stop uprooting the turnips. we need those. we know you don't like it but maybe we can do something to make it up to you?) and tending to the wounds. Mental wounds count also. Advisors to the monarchs, can be more than one. (dunno if i would call this a shaman yet. need to research if tatars had something like that. maybe a Mulla? but i don't have muslim religion in here)

Priests of Nature - usually they are Healers also, but sometimes a priest cannot talk to the spirits sooooo another in the pride takes those responsibilities.

Hospitalizations and deaths due to Covid in Manaus went up again so much that they will soon be visible from space, which would be a place similar to Manaus, as both have no oxygen.

For those who do not know or have forgotten, Manaus is part of Brazil and they are in urgent need of oxygen cylinders because the Lunatic Government of that country that only sinks, did not bother to run after it, even though it was warned 1 month before the situation reached the point that is currently.

Day 1. roommates

i used this as an exuse for making their room. weirdos living on a ship <3

honestly it would be more messy but. living in a space that lurches every couple of minutes, taughes one to put everything in the cabinets.

their ship wasn't meant to house people for more than a couple weeks at a time, but they make do.

probably all the usual mary sues that were around in that time.... i got access to the internet early on...

i liked cheetahs a lot at that time, so there was probably some cheetah in there, i was invested in nice to meet you kami-sama, so godlike powers <33 and i liked flying animals and was reading Witchling Ira (russian(but the authors were from Ukraine or near it) book about a 13nish little kid that awakens as a witch. suprisingly fucked up. the main character was a half-god that could turn into a dog with wings(she even had the horror elements in there!!!! she was scared turning and she was so so upset about her body changing against her will! it was such a treat. hp may talk about all the horrors of werewolfs but it was all just physical things and disgust. Ira had the mental anguish about it. best series. i wish it didn't add the 1000years fiance into the story.)

pghhh no, not even closeeee she went through so many changes she was first the usual angel-demon-superpowered mary suish oc, then i got scared that ill be bullied for having that (the 2011-2014rh years in the art community were bad. horrid. why did they hate everything fun and whimsical.) so she became the catgirl, and then i got a fist idea of my setting. lion with wings <333 and notheng else.

and then i got into alien stories with weird biology and it went uphill from there <33

the design got sorta solidified in 2018ish and from then i just fiddle with the colors and shapes...
