The past defies attempts to change
He hated the Daedra. With every single cell of his Chimer body, he swore to his dying sister that he would destroy the Daedra, those false gods, devils and demons, naught but a curse upon Nirn. And by the Nine Divines so help him, they all would realize their hubris, and the last they would see would be the snarling visage of a rage-stricken Chimer mage.
The future defies attempts to predict
He had complicated algorithms. Powerful magic. Vast knowledge. And friendship with the Dwemer scholars and mages. He always found them somewhat unsettling, but to keep them as allies was better than to have the formidable Dwemer as enemies like the dark days. Yet he could always feel like one variable would always be unaccounted for....
The present defies attempts to know
One day, he'd had a vision. Of a hell blasted Resdayn, of an Almalexia driven mad with rage and power, of a great beating heart of a dying god, guarded as viciously as a dragon by the mutilated corpse of his friend and mentor, now unrecognizable but for the bright golden visage. Of Nerevar laying in a pool of his blood, with three shrouded figures standing over him, holding three Dwemer artifacts..
It unsettled him. Everything did. But when one experienced so much grief, would you slowly begin to lose sight of it all? Would you not begin to do naught in your power but to experience a moment of contentment? Begin to see all as no more than equations in the grand desire to destroy the Padomaic forces, uniting them with Anu.
Unity for one and all. Order. Logic. Clockwork. Reason.
Relief.
And so, Sotha Sil drafted up the plans, to tell the remaining two of the Tribunal of Advisors to the Hortator, what must be done. What sacrifices to be made.
Sotha Sil stood up, rolled up his paper, allowed himself to shed a tear. One for the grief of the past. Another, for the fruitlessness of the future. And a final one for the inescapability of the present.
The beginning of the words is ALMSIVI
I drew my favorite Tribunal member because I love him, he’s a blorbo.

tribunal lore question
So a question - to all who played Morrowind and ESO and met the Tribunal.
Why do people love them? I am very curious.
When I played Morrowind, that very very long time ago for the first time, it left a huge lasting impression on me with its odd alien world, the story, and the characters. And I’ve always saw Tribunal as villains for what they did to Nerevar, up to the point that I hated joining the Temple, but only did it for quest and completionist reasons.
When I’ve recently played ESO, I was dreading to meet the Tribunal, but in the end was very happy to see how the were presented. Alma - the bitch queen, completely ruthless and having that insane self-delusional goddess streak of having done nothing wrong, ever, Vivec - generally nice, but always somewhere in-between, and Sotha - melancholic and accepting of the evil they’d done in the past, and accepting that his own demise will come fairly soon. (also he did establish Alma as the biggest threat to his own existense in Clockwork city, which I thought was a really nice touch)
Now I know there is a that dragonmeld or rend or whatever weird thing in the lore, that states that in some realities they might not have actually killed Nerevar, and were gods before the heart. But tbh i feel like its complete and utter bullshit cooked up to cover its own lore mishaps by Beth. And its much more fun to have delusional gods who werent gods, and who had performed something really bad to someone they loved, and now live in denial, ridden by guilt, and slowly going insane, as their power fleets away from them.
BUT, my question came from the fact that I’ve seen quite a few mods “redeeming” Almalexia. Which, while I know to each their own, I am super curious to see why all the love. If anything Dagoth Ur is the more tragic figure here. Those 3 were just power hungry assholes. Not to mention they were the reason the Chimer were cursed to look like they are now, and Alma was in so much denial she didn’t even bother to adopt the appearance. Mother Morrowind my ass.
Anyways thoughts? What am I missing? Or do I have my lore wrong?
I really love Morrowind, Tribunal, and the whole Nerevar lore, so if I am wrong on something pls point it out!
AHO
The clockwork city is just his gamer setup
