Home sweet home-domestic
When he had first agreed to get an apartment he did it out of convenience. If they were both living in Tokyo it would be silly to pay more when they could both share rent. It made sense. Kisumi could be a handful at times but he wasn't awful to live with. If he became to bothersome he would hide out in his bedroom WITH his headphones on. He found out quickly if the second part wasn't done there were little taps and knocks on his door, whispers of his name from the other side. You never wanted to stay mad at him that way. He was so childlike in that way. Perhaps that's why his younger brother was so fond of him. One thing that he found out about kisumi was he truly missed the countryside. He missed home a great deal. He tried not to show it. Living in the big city making their life's better! But every so often that excitement died away. Left kisumi curled up in strange places around the apartment. Sousuke never disturbed him in those moments. He never thought he would miss his bubbly questions and his hands pawing at him for attention. But he did. Kisumi wasn't kisumi when he got into these funks. They were both under a lot of pressure to succeed they might as well enjoy the journey. So Sousuke did little things to cheer him up. Kisumi caught him doing his laundry once. Sousuke told him it was just easier to run them together, but he figured if he could help with one small task off Kisumi's shoulders it could help. A small smile returned on Kisumi's face as he sat beside him to help fold the massive amount of clothes the two had. Of course he couldn't help himself but giggle when he came across Sousuke's boxers, flinging them at his face. Definitely more like kisumi. The next thing Sousuke started doing was leaving notes around for kisumi to find. Sometimes he found them quickly, other times it was awhile. On the mirror he left, 'make sure you leave hot water for me, beauty doesn't take 40 minutes'. Then in his gym bag, 'work hard so you can look like me when you grow up.' That one he was sure to get an eye roll. He marked one on the fridge, 'I made too much so you got a bento today. You're welcome' they weren't love notes. But he showed that he cared. Kisumi's smile grew a little wider with each note. Soon the bentos came every day instead of just on occasion. Kisumi convinced Sousuke not to hide out in his bedroom. Instead now they just hung on the couch going through seasons of some syfi show. It was horribly cheesy but it made them both laugh. Sometimes by the end the two were cuddled up together. Some how kisumi was pressed against his side, wrapped around his arm. Sousuke couldn't remember when it happened.. But he didn't mind like he thought he would. Kisumi slowly sunk into his skin. Now all he wanted was to see him smile. So it was time to pull out the big guns. He had called Hayato just to be sure. It had taken little research and a special trip to the store to get all of the ingredients. Whisking, measuring, mixing all afternoon. He had popped the cake into the oven and had set the frosting just right. When the cake had finally cooled he was just about to start adding the first layer of frosting when kisumi had came home. Sousuke's eyes were wide like he was being caught doing something naughty. "I thought you were going to the gym." Was the first words out of his mouth. Kisumi shook his head moving closer to see why he was acting so oddly. "No, my knee is a little sore today. I thought maybe we could just watch a movie or somethin-" he stopped mid word when he saw what Sousuke had been working on behind the counter. "Sou... " his voice was soft. "I.. Well.. " he couldn't think of what to say. "I thought you would like it." It was his favorite cake. Apparently his mom made him this cake every year for his birthday. "I do." His voice came meek and hesitant. Sousuke was afraid he possibly over stepped his bounds. Just when he figured that this has been the wrong route kisumi came closer towards his side. "Here, you're putting the frosting on wrong. Let me help you." He reached out taking ahold of his hand. Guiding it across the surface with smooth strokes. "You would have gotten crumbs everywhere doing it the other way." He explained as he continued to guide Sousuke through the movements. It was then when Sousuke took a moment to admire the other. How nimble his fingers were. The soft scent of lavender that clung to his hair. But the icing on his cake was the gentle curve of a smile, just hinted at the corners of his mouth. That was his favorite smile. "Oi, pay attention.." Kisumi teased when he had caught him staring. Sousuke looked away as if he was batted by Kisumi's words, embarrassed to be caught in a moment like that. Completely gawking at Kisumi's appearance. "Sorry, it's just that you have something on you." He muttered. Kisumi lifted his free hand from his side to his face as he felt around for the foreign object. "Where?" "Here." Sousuke had scooped a little frosting on his fingers and smudged it onto his flawless skin. Shrieks and cries filled the kitchen that became an all out war. Kisumi had grabbed a handful of strawberries and tried to mash them into Sousuke's mouth or into his light blue shirt. Sousuke managed to get frosting in his hair and on the side of his neck. But rather it go to waste when kisumi was about to launch an attack to shove a strawberry down his back Sousuke licked some of the white cream off of his neck. Kisumi froze as a shiver was sent down his spine. His hands went limp, no longer trying to fight free of Sousuke's hold on his wrists. He turned his cheek to kiss the strawberry smeared on his upper lip. Soon the two were a mess of red and white, soon to be as pink as the hair on Kisumi's head. Sousuke pressed Kisumi's back against the counter taking his time, completely lost in the languid movements of their lips brushing against each other again and again. Pulling away to finally get rid of the crushed strawberries in his fists kisumi was now smiling brighter than ever. "You taste sweet." The jump they had made completely felt natural, like they had been doing it all along. "Not as sweet as you." Sousuke added. "Well you know what they say, home Sweet home."
