"Soulcatcher"
The Black Company Chronicles by Glen Cook is a series that I adore. Lo and behold, after several years, another entry (Lies Weeping) is coming out on Nov 4th! I’ve wanted to do a piece of Soulcatcher for a while and just never got around to it, but how could I resist with a next book coming. She’s such an interesting and complex villain in an already complex and morally grey world, masked and enigmatic in appearance and motives. There aren’t a ton of details about her description, just some bare bones basics and nuggets here and there, so it made for some fun to flesh out the image in my head that I think of her.
Who are some of your favorite book villain(s)?
Me: opens my Blorbo cabinet Top shelf: Agatha Heterodyne: cackling maniacally as she calls down lightning Soulcatcher, Granny Weatherwax, and Lwaxana Troi: cheating as they play cards Natalie Oscott: preparing to take flight on a hangglider made of paperclips Mello: skulking in the corner, unimpressively Daphne Blake: painting his nails while telling him exactly how he screwed up and she would have solved the Kira case Bottom shelf: Shang Qinghua, Jon Snow (books), Gilgamesh Wulfenbach, and Lt. Malcolm Reed: exhaustedly trying to balance their organisations' budgets without offending anyone or getting more overworked
Me, lowering my newest blorbo down into the bottom shelf: Yes, this is the right place for you. Maxwell Gotch, dismayed: What? No! I'm a Wind Rider now! I'm cool! I can be cool! Don't condemn me like this just because I spent half the season worrying about debts! *muffled shouted objections continue as the door closes*

🌻I’ve been trying to practice getting better with shading and I came up with this sunflower woman who may or may not steal the souls of her unfortunate victims and turn them into sunflowers.
