You aren’t allowed to do that.

Your influence, your control over them, isn’t something you can try to force other people to aid in. Especially not Frisk.

They are a six year old child. They are the younger brother of Kris, and you’re trying to control them too? You’re trying to tell them what they should do? How they should destroy one of the few things they can use to keep your thoughts out of their head?

You can’t do that. You aren’t allowed to do that.

The SOUL is lucky its attempt to manipulate another one of the Dreemurrs was intercepted by Kris, because if they found out that Frisk was convinced to do what it suggested, things would not go as well for it.

Granted, things aren’t going to go well for it to begin with.

Before it can even do anything about the fact it had been found out before even begin seen by Frisk, through pure manipulation of Kris’s curse of awareness, the human thrusts their hand straight into their chest.

They may be tearing out a heart shaped object, but its not their heart, that they know... It sure does feel like it from how much it hurts when they do this.

Silently screaming through the pain, trembling as their very body tried to protest the action, Kris eventually tears their SOUL right out of their physical form. Once again, they’re holding it in their hand... And it still feels fuzzy. Like television static.

“ ...You don’t do that to them... You don’t get to do that to anyone. ” Their words are strained, pain in their chest evident just from how hard it was to speak. But they didn’t care. They were seething.

You wanted to get rid of the birdcage, yeah? Well, that’s just too bad. Because that’s exactly where you’re going back to.

They were already in their room when they removed their SOUL, now severed from their connection to that fourth wall, the message meant for Frisk no longer able to be seen. But the rage continued.

With tremendous effort, perhaps more than needed, Kris lobs the SOUL back into the birdcage, the force of it hitting the bars forcing the whole thing back, slamming its gate closed as a result. Then, they trudge over to it, pick it up out of the red wagon, and start marching outside.

Slowly, they trudge, quiet enough to not be heard. The other Dreemurrs busy elsewhere. They only had enough time to walk outside, circle around back of the house, and stop a few feet away from the house.

They remember this part of the woods, it’s where they used to meet up with Noelle and December while Asriel was finishing up schoolwork in the house. The tree they were stopping by marking the edge of the forest that surrounds most of Hometown, and the same tree he and Noelle would try to climb while December finished up the last of her schoolwork.

But now, this was the place that Kris would set the cage down at, before beginning to dig a hole in the ground at the base of the tree with their bare hands, agony coursing through their body as they do. Eventually, the hole was deep enough that they simply just pushed the cage into it and shoved the dirt back over top.

The SOUL wasn’t quite buried six feet under like they wanted... But it was good enough.

With what little effort they had left, they trudged back around the house, back inside, closed the front door behind them, and collapsed onto the couch.

Maybe this would teach you a lesson. One you’d do good remember when you inevitably return to possessing them.

Your chance to control them is over. This isn’t the story of the fallen human anymore. It’s the story about the Deltarune. And you don’t get to change that.

* Crunch.

* Aaaand Susie was eating chalk again. At least this time it was the chalk Noelle had given her, and not some she had stolen herself. Still, she was being secretive about it. If one of the teachers found it, they’d definitely make her give it up, and she wasn’t about to let that happen.

* Satisfied, at least for the moment, she turned to head back to the classroom. When she turned around though, she was met with the sight of Kris’ younger sibling, Frisk.

* “Fuck! Where did you come from?!”

* Closing her eyes and letting out a sigh, she made herself relax. Frisk was usually pretty unfazed by everything, but she still didn’t want to risk scaring them.

* “Listen, kid, you can’t just sneak up on someone like that. At least walk loudly or something.”

The baby has come to their favorite robot with a gift!! Ta-daa! A doodle made with lots of love and care, just for him!  They’re practically bouncing when they give it to him!!

    And what magnificent timing! He was just getting ready to practice an old family tradition until they came around!  Better them bounding over, distracted, instead of asking him questions such as why is he on the floor.  "  Oh?  Need something, beau— “ …

Gasp.  He can’t believe it … Not only did they completely capture how beautiful he is but they did him one better … They captured his beauty in a drawing!!!!!!  This is one of the most accurate things he’s seen!!  ”  Sweetheart, is that— me?  "  He’s holding the paper now, admiring the linework and especially the color!!  "  I’m speechless…  "

Words cannot describe it but maybe this will: he’s pulling them into one of the biggest hugs, looking at the paper again.  "  I hope you know that I’m keeping this for future reference.  "  In other words, you won’t be getting it back.  It’s for important future reference.   But he loves it.  "  I had no idea you were so talented, darling. You’re just full of surprises for me. "  Ooh, a new idea for a show?  Drawing with a killer robot and his host: the ambassador.  Yes, he needs to write that down.

Ralsei expected only two guests to his Castle Town today. What with the Legend foretold, along with the attachment that the Entity made, it’s only natural to believe Heaven would bring only the two of them. It comes as a surprise to Ralsei, then, when someone completely new arrives, attached to Kris. It’s a good time to arrive, at least; with no one here as they all remained within the unused classroom, Ralsei could greet them personally without overwhelming them. Pointedly he gave them no attention, satisfying instead the need for the Entity to receive instructions, but upon receiving that and leaving through the beam of Light (with an appropriate wave of goodbye coming from Ralsei) and Susie wandering off into the city proper, Ralsei turns his attention to the little one.

They look so much like Kris, it’s staggering. Still, something brighter comes from them than Kris... And he also gets the sense that the Entity doesn’t attach to them in quite the same way. (Or at least... Not this time.) Ralsei has a height edge over them, and yet still he has the impression that an adventurous spirit remains in that tiny body.

His gentle expression accompanies his similarly gentle words.

* This is your first time in the Dark World, isn’t it, Frisk? It’s nice to meet you!

Having more Lightners available in their quest could only be a good thing. Ralsei would see to it that he makes them just as happy as he tries to for Kris and Susie, even if the Entity may not take particular interest in them. (Or perhaps it does? Ralsei gets the impression there’s more to them than meets the eye, at least.)

* I’m Ralsei, the PRINCE of this Kingdom. Kris is off to get the others, so for now it’s just me here. I hope you don’t mind how quiet it is in the meantime...!

Baby waves a little to catch Metta’s attention. Then they smile and sign:
