oh hey congrats! do you know if cute charm works on chains? i read somewhere that it only affected the first encounter/ start of the battle but i don’t know if that’s true
From my about 130 encounters, Cute Charm appears to work, but with a specific trick:
The Cute Charmer needs to be the first Pokémon in the party.
When I started, I had a high level Pheromosa as my first party member, and noticed almost all the Salandit that were being called in were male, even after I switched out to Sylveon. Then I remembered that when using a Synchronizer for SOS chains, the Synchronizer has to be in the battle...but it will Synchronize the nature of the first Pokémon in the party. So you could, for example, have a Timid Alakazam on the field with Synchronize, but if the first Pokémon in your party is a calm Florges, it’s going to try to Synchronize for a Calm nature.
So I left that battle, put Sylveon up front, and the next chain I was seeing significantly more female Salandit. It took some fumbling around to get the first one down to 1 HP and get the Harvest/Skill Swap/Leppa trick going, and then I switched back to Sylveon.
I’m not sure if having the Cute Charmer in battle afterwards had any effect on the encounters, but having it up front very likely did. I’m just one person though, and that’s not nearly a sample size great enough to say for sure.
But it’s better than nothing, imo. Worth a shot. And thank you <3
