I was so happy when they did this one! I expected One Foot and Shut Up and Dance. Wasn’t sure which one they would do for the third and this was a very pleasant surprise. One of my faves from their new album for sure.

I’m so mad I didn’t get the whole thing cos this was amazing! Lauren (the DJ) had asked a question about if recording at the old Def Jam studios helped influence the “rap” on One Foot. Kevin started in one on this story of how they were at some sort of MTV thing at SXSW that was some sort of awards ceremony and it was them and a bunch of rappers. So the red carpet folks were asking everybody to bust out some raps. They just did whatever and Nick threw down some rhymes. They watched it later and the professional rappers were apparently all just “Uh... Yeah... Yeah... Uh..” and they were the best? Somehow? And then Nick busted this thing out and OMG it’s the best.

Today I made my radio debut, chatting with Carl Chamberlain on Wandsworth Radio about art and dancing and poetry. I first met Carl when we were part of Dad Dancing at BAC - Carl is a poet and spoken word artist, and I’ve had the pleasure of attending some of his Open Mic nights and he’s visited a few of my art shows, so I was delighted when he invited me to come and talk about my Mixed Borders residency at Share Community Garden and the Friday Group’s upcoming exhibition at the Sound Lounge in Tooting - even if I was a little nervous.
