Fight for The Winchesters
After news of cancellation, the cast and executive producers of The Winchesters gathered on social media to fuel the already burning fire that's been lit beneath the SPN Family. Samantha Highfill of Entertainment Weekly spoke with the leads and co-captain of this ship to offer what valuable lessons they mined from their time on the show.
Check out the article below, keep tagging #SaveTheWinchesters across all platforms, and never stop fighing.
Jensen Ackles discusses the power of the 'Supernatural' family and why he's 'hopeful' this isn't the end for 'The Winchesters.'
Excerpts from The Winchesters interview:
Yes, [The Winchesters’] potential is massive, even after the show's cancellation by The CW, because [Jensen Ackles] and the cast have already launched a #SaveTheWinchesters campaign to find the story a new home. "There's a lot of story to tell here and there's a huge fan base that is very actively engaged and willing to support it," he says. ... It's a passion that Ackles saw the instant he tweeted out the news that the show had been canceled. "They are fired up," he says of the fans. "I love that about this fandom. I love that they are so passionate about this world and this universe and these characters that they are willing to go to the mat for a show like this. I think that speaks volumes, especially to those who are willing to listen and have the power to do something about it."
Nida Khurshid "Continuing the legacy of the hugely successful show, Supernatural, has not only been humbling and thrilling but also a way for me to represent my heritage proudly through the character I get to play. Fighting for what you believe in whether it be saving the world from monsters or standing up for your friends, I believe our show can inspire that sense of courage and direction to fight for what's right in a world that needs it."

“BuzzFeed Unsolved,” the long-running online documentary series starring Shane Madej and Ryan Bergara, is coming to an end after five years.
The eighth and final season of “BuzzFeed Unsolved: True Crime” will premiere Friday, June 18, at 3 p.m. PT on the show’s YouTube channel. That will be followed by the fall 2021 release of the seventh and final season of “BuzzFeed Unsolved: Supernatural.”
In “True Crime,” creators, producers and co-hosts Bergara and Madej will present six new episodes diving into different cases including the deaths of Princess Diana and George Reeves, who played Superman on TV in the 1950s. After each episode, Ryan and Shane will co-host the “BuzzFeed Unsolved Q+A Postmortem” recapping that week’s segment, discussing fan theories and answering viewer questions.
In 2019, Bergara and Madej quit BuzzFeed as full-time employees and together with ex-BuzzFeeder Steve Lim formed their own entertainment studio/network Watcher Entertainment.
“BuzzFeed has always worked hard to foster an environment where BuzzFeed creators can experiment and grow their careers — and we will support our creators who wish to explore new avenues independently,” a rep said in a statement. “Ryan and Shane will always be welcome in our content and a part of the BuzzFeed network as they take time to focus on their YouTube channel Watcher.”
Since it debuted in 2016, “BuzzFeed Unsolved” has accumulated more than 1.3 billion views for the show exploring popular crimes and mysteries (and more than 16.6 billion minutes of total watch-time). Beyond the final seasons of “BuzzFeed Unsolved,” the BuzzFeed Unsolved Network will continue to be “the go-to YouTube channel for all things horror, mystery and paranormal content,” according to the company.
“We were truly fortunate to have the opportunity from BuzzFeed to make this show,” Bergara said in a statement. “I can’t even begin to describe the appreciation I have for all the support we’ve received from this fanbase that has allowed us to pursue this dream and our passions.”
Madej added: “None of this would have been possible without the passion of Shaniacs and Boogaras. This will be one thrilling final year for the fans as we dive into our favorite, most-requested crimes and mysteries.”

Diversity and Inclusion on The Winchesters
Nida and Jojo Fleites were interviewed on Multicultural TV Talk by Juan Ayala to discuss the importance of on-screen representation for South Asian and non-binary people in Western media.
Excerpts from Nida and Jojo's interview:
"Growing up, I always wanted to see people who look like me, sound like me, and who I can relate to," Khurshid explains. "To be able to reciprocate and be that for young Pakistani, Indian and Middle Eastern women has been so lovely and something I don't take for granted or take lightly at all. It's been the biggest blessing doing it for this platform, having Supernatural on our backs, carrying that honor. And I feel so lucky to have [Jojo] by my side doing this. We all support each other so much and highlight what each one of us is different in, and those differences are what makes us feel more alike and safer." "When it comes to Pakistani women, and non-binary people like myself, we've always been around, we've always existed, we just haven't been put closer to the forefront in stories until the past couple of years," Fleites says. "I'm very grateful that this team really celebrated our existence and took what we know and contributed it to our characters. It's been a wonderful collaboration and great process."
