Hello New Followers and also Tag Browsers. Are you looking for an Ongoing Homestuck PostCanon Horror Spin-Off Webcomic? No? You are now. Read my team and I's hit webcomic, SOVEREIGNSTUCK! It's good! Synopsis below. Hit the Favorite button on it, too - that helps tell even more people everywhere that the comic's good, which it is. We're just getting started, but the fans certainly seem to like it, and the community's quite nice. They're always looking for more people to chat with, and we (as devs) are always looking for more people to appreciate this cool thing we're making together. And presumably, you're looking for a cool thing, too. Win/Win.
A story about a boy, his friends, and a god-making machine.
Does putting a bunch of Socially Maladjusted Marginalized High Schoolers in a broken RPG Deus Ex Machina with a focus on seizing Narrative Control from each other and molding its Players into Better Characters - not Better People - sound like a bad idea? Is it any better if they're stuck in there with game veteran Paradox Space Reincarnates of the Alpha Trolls as their guiding Patrons? How about their own Ancestors from millennia past, stuck in stasis in the depths of The Game for thousands of years, fully isolated from the real world, yet still fully ready to give their opinions on everything? No? Guess those guys are fucked, then! Might as well join the ride about it, huh?
Oh, and... Mind the Content Warnings, alright? It's gonna be a Turbulent one.

It’s been stated on multiple occasions that Annomi Errata’s sunglasses are based on Kubrick’s Lolita. Beyond the obvious film connection over the direct literature (though Nabokov’s stipulations for its cover are too referenced within his art style— pure colors and melting skies), it seems to me to serve yet another purpose: placing Annomi as a director.
Annomi’s introduction has him narrate directly to the audience, a privilege no other character receives, not even Heir of Light Retris. It speaks to not only an awareness of being received, but an active attempt to control it.
“It's even easier to carefully curate your image to your needs. Pruning ones personality - and any unnecessary traits - is much easier when no one can see your face, or touch you, Gods forbid, or hear your voice.” (p. 151)
The emphasis on intangibility, beyond likely reference to backstory, again highlights Annomi’s obsession over his image. To put simply: not only is Annomi Humbert to Retris— flattening Retris into the coy and narrativized character of Warblade— but so is he to himself.
Where Dolores fights to be recognized as a person, Annomi has long ceded personhood. His glasses protect him as much as they stand as a symbol of his entrapment. He was a boy, and will soon be a man, with all the connotations that both of those positions bring. What he does now is attempt to carry control, not through personhood, but the pruning of it, both to others and himself. A keeper of the cycle.
The appeal of voyeurism is its invulnerability. But cameras are to be directed; they serve a purpose in a narrative, to construct a narrative.
Happy sov upd8 day
