Sowo 2013
There are tons of car shows every year in all kinds of unique locations. We mark off our calendars, request off from work, and start counting down the days until these shows. My favorite by far is Southern Worthersee. There is just something about being tucked away in the mountains of Georgia, other shows can’t even compete. Maybe it’s the 1,800 mile trip, the exhilarating twisty roads leading into Helen, or just the way the sun seems to burn a little hotter in the south. Regardless of a weather forecast predicting a rainy weekend, this was by far the biggest SoWo yet. In it’s 7th year, the enthusiasts engulf the town and make it their own. The days were spent snapping pictures, catching up with old friends and taking in everything the town has to offer. Nights consisted of drinking..heavily and spending quality time with those friends we only get to see once or twice a year. You would imagine the mountains of Georgia to be quiet and peaceful at night. Not in Helen. The nights smelled of burnt rubber and the sounds of a “Project X” style party echoed through-out the small town. As usual the weekend flew by way too fast and next thing we knew we were headed back to Jersey. If you haven’t been I highly suggest you make the trip. Until next year, Helen.
