So, I spent much of yesterday feeling overwhelmed by my newsfeed churning out story after story of racist policy and outraged humans. I'm glad we're all outraged, but it makes cyberspace overwhelming. Like many of you, I have some serious doubts about the function of an outraged cyberspace. And yet we're all still here, still shouting our opinions into the wind.
We will continue to shout our opinions here, because that is what this space is for (probably). So...how can we make it better? Julia Elizabeth Evans and I are making videos about communication. We're trying to make videos that change the way that we have conversations, so that when we talk, and when we disagree, we can do so with empathy.
Here is a video about my personal feelings about refugees. Please reblog so all the world can see. That's what cyberspace is for (I think)
