It’s been a while since we’ve done a Mars day (since Tuesday is named after the Roman god Mars via the Norse) so lets celebrate our red neighbor with these GORGEOUS posters of Martian landmarks by design studio, Fabled Creative.

Fabled Creative is the creation of Roy Guyatt and Indy Lytle, based in Toronto. Their designs are available via Redbubble and Society 6. And seriously...these Mars posters are just the tip of the iceberg.

Made some GYAXA posters

Design considerations under the split:

These were designed to be the in the background of a Clay Terran piece I’m making, which is why the color palette is the same. A teal through indigo analogous palette felt like it fit space travel (and Clay), so here we are.

The HAT-1 poster was supposed to resemble a 3D jigsaw/model puzzle, hence the pegs. At first it was going to be a 2D jigsaw, but it felt too flat, and I liked the angle on the 3D version more. The did mean I had to whip out blender, though ;-;. I was going to have the Earth in the background, but the amount of colors and the amount of shapes in the background made it too distracting, so I went with the moon instead. It also worked better conceptually, I think, because it looks the shuttle is stuck far away from home.

The Star Cruise piece isn’t really too connected to GYAXA in concept, but it’s a poster I can see any space agency making, so why not GYAXA? The idea is to turn a constellation into a board for a game. I also thought it’d be fun if the dice used had constellations on them instead of just the regular dots. Though I didn’t know what to do for the 1 face, so I made a special star with a border and hoped that people would also think it was the north star? The bottom half of the poster is supposed to look like water because the board constellation is the river.

Another fun detail: the bottom of the border on both these posters is based on the HAT-1 jacket sleeves.
