The Good News: Writing has been a real thing over the last week or so and in that last week or so Bellarke!Space Pirates has become an even more real thing and the next chapter outline title is just WE’RE KISSING NOW.
The Not-So Good News: WORLD BUILDING IS HARD WHEN YOU ARE IN SPACE WHERE THERE ARE LOTS OF DIFFERENT WORLDS, AND I’M LIKE OH--TIME?? HOW DO THEY TELL TIME WITHOUT A SUN?? WAS THERE AN ANCIENT HISTORY? CAN BELLAMY MAKE HISTORY JOKES IF AUGUSTUS DIDN’T ACTUALLY EXIST? DO ANY OF THESE WORDS MAKE SENSE? WHO KNOWS. TYPE THE SCIENCE. MAKE UP THE SCIENCE. JUST KEEP REPEATING THE WORD QUADRANT UNTIL IT MEANS SOMETHING.
Pirates! In Lost in Space? It’s more likely than you’d think!
Okay Lost in Space/Robot Robinson fandom hear me out.
Major Spoilers below cut....
We Know:
1)the alien robots are full on people with emotions, friendships, and individual desires
2) they are a space-faring race
3) there is some sort of centralized command at least for each of the four planets
4) the command does not like it when individuals go rogue.
5) Said rogue individuals still have a strong longing for community
We suspect based on evidence
5) there is at least some straight up mind control involved (see Robot Robinson apparently being controlled by SAR in the last episode of S1)
6)some robots can defy this (see R.R. not letting W.R. die in same)
7)the alien robots have or have the tendency to develop a strict code
All these add up to one thing.
ALIEN ROBOT PIRATES!
So say ARGH! Me matey! And raise a mug of ale to season 3 being about Judy Robinson forming an alliance with all of the disaffected robots who left or were cast out of the four main robot castes.

Robot Robinson being very, very unsure about the whole thing because his entire life he’s only heard about these rogues as deserters and criminals. But hey, the Robinson’s haven’t let him down yet and he’s a deserter too now he supposes....
Will Robinson being still young enough to be ecstatic about being an honest to goodness space pirate.
Judy Robinson becoming a pirate queen (through her awesome organizational skills as most pirate queens were made) because she is after all, Daddy’s Little Girl.
