🥳here’s my bday fit! 🥳
Had this outfit planned for so looong
Do you think Star Wars creators need to consider the possibility that if they choose to kill Ben then they’re almost allowing dying to be the only way you can be redeemed?
Hey Nonnie,
I hesitate to say they “need” to do anything. Just as we don’t actually owe them anything, they don’t owe us anything either. Now, it’s probably in their best interests (profitability wise) to write a compelling story that engages as much of the GA as possible, and one that will mostly satisfy the fandom at large (at least the fandom that regularly interacts with the IP in positive and fun ways *COUGH* it ain’t the fanboys *cough*), but ultimately they’re going to do whatever they think is best for their story and their brand. Killing off a character that’s really popular is a great way to see them pop up again in the EU (Maul, Boba, etc) because it limits the story/merch potential when people can’t really engage with them any longer. And by satisfy, I mean, write a story that still has people talking about your product long after it’s over, maybe a little less so than TLJ (hah), but fandoms with out passionate bases die and fast, which may mean that not everyone gets exactly what they want (very likely considering how diverging fandom desires are at this point). So, I guess it also depends on their future plans for the ST, and KK has said that there are future plans for some of the characters.
As for Kylo, I do think he’s going to die (metaphorically) so that Ben Solo can live. He’ll shed the persona of Kylo Ren who will, as far as I’m concerned, be dead in the eyes of the Galaxy (at least the part of the known galaxy that knows who tf he is). SOOOOOOOOOOO People who want “Kylo to die” will get what they want, FROM A CERTAIN POINT OF VIEW (hahahahahAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA).
I’m not really going to get into the how or why I think things are going to go down this way as I don’t really have time and I’ve said it before and before and before and before, but there’s lots of chatter out there about symbolism as it relates to KR in the ST and the likely story trajectory as it relates to the Heroine’s/Hero’s Journey. There are also great meta out there explaining why redemption through death isn’t the likely course for Ben, despite how some people like to scream about how “irredeemable” he is, he’s literally the tamest villain to ever villain and anyone that says otherwise needs to get out more. I think the whole idea is rather antequated in modern storytelling (read: boring and overdone in western media; there are places in the world where they’re writing circles around some western stories and their obsession with punishment/death as atonement--IT’S NOT FUCKING ATONEMENT IF YOU ARE DEAD AND CAN’T ACTUALLY ATONE) and I don’t think it has any place in a story where one of the main themes is hope. They know what they’re doing with him and I trust DLF to get it right.
Anyways, I’m in a weird mood. But I don’t think they owe us an explanation for what they’re doing here, just like we don’t owe them our time (or money) if we stop enjoying any part of this. :)
Follow your bliss and all that!
Cheers!
Imagine Loki, Lotor, and Ben Solo/Kylo Ren getting together
They could spar, talk politics, brag about their conquests, and/or have a group therapy session.

Dear Grand Duke Sanae Donghae Phareo Isuel Monerel Aerie IV,
Despite any possible doubt and misgiving I have about your i-Net profile and address, I have been gravely assured several times by your diplomatic parties and personally by your ambassador, Sir Ahn Chilhyun, that this is indeed the correct i-addy so I hope this message was safely deliver into your inbox accordingly.
Now, I am fully aware that this message must have come as surprised to you since I have bypass any official channels made between our two government and chose to contact you directly instead through an encrypted server but I thought it would be best if I was the one to reach out to you first to express my thought about our potential future. As I understand it from Sir Ahn, he’d already told you that my Queen Mother had made several overtures about a possible engagement between us and though I already said I was partial to the idea of it, we are still waiting for your answer.
I know marriage is a serious matter and shouldn’t be consider lightly, so I should give you plenty of time and space to think it over but after being alerted by our intelligence agency of the increasingly alarming correspondent between you and the Ambassador that the Bethe Royal Security deemed it a level three threat—which is quite significant given that two you were only exchanging extremely violate letters to each other.
I have yet to seen details of your letter myself, though the head of the BRS have told me they were quite explicit and filled with profanities and as I’m made to believe, also threat of ritual castration. From that alone I should be able to take that as a firm rejection but the official words coming from Elyan is that you are still thinking it over. I can only take that as your media handlers tightening their reign on you to make sure you don’t say anything inflammatory that may ignite another hundred sol-years war.
I admit I understand where you are coming from. The idea of marrying someone whom I have never met nor have an inkling of feelings toward for a political treaty does not agree with me. When my Queen Mother first suggested a union between Bethe and Elyan in the form of a marriage between you and I, I was very hesitant about it. I just didn’t see how a marriage between a pair of strangers half a galaxy away from each other is going to bridge that centuries old animosity, the cultural divide, and the million of light years of distance between our planetary systems.
In the passing days I have given it a lot of thoughts and consideration, and had taken the advice of my close associates and I realized I might have passed judgment too quickly. I was born to war and war is all I have ever known in Bethe, my people had suffered wounds after wounds long before I even existed so we sharpened our swords and pointed it toward the sky so that we can never be hurt again. This had led to our quickly expanding empire and the new theories that we had undertaken but because we are ever fighting and growing, there has never been peace given to us.
If this could prevent one less war in the galaxy, one less fight we have to commit to, then I don’t think it’s a hardship I couldn’t endure.
Though our engagement may not be of either of our own choosing, I hope you would give us a chance to get to know each other if not for the better of our people but in order to develop a healthy and strong relationship that will outlast us.
I don’t wish to force the idea of marriage on you but I think of there are many benefits and possibilities that open to us if we accept this engagement. Even if there’s nothing to come out of this entire exchange between us, we could be friends if nothing else.
I patiently await your respond, Your Grace.
And one more thing, if you could please stop threatening to send a military envoy to blow up Sir Ahn’s residential area in Embassy Row to make your point because it make our military head’s extremely twitchy and paranoid and also the blast area would encompass one of my favorite eateries in the capital so I would be very sadden to see it disappear. Thank you.
