Is it weird that I found the ending to 2010: The Year We Made Contact more confusing than 2001: A Space Odyssey?
Why did the monolith(s) turn Jupiter into a new star (sun)? Is it for the life developing on Europa? Why aren’t humans allowed there? Is new life going to develop on Europa (my impression was yes since the monolith appears there at the end)?
Won’t having two suns effect the climate and stasis of the Earth?
Why did the new sun create peace?
What are the two thing they’re (who? humans?) supposed to use together? The monoliths? The suns? Are they (humans??) supposed to work together with the future life on Europa? If thst why no one’s suppose to go near it?
Why is the monolith so defensive?
Why were all the characters happy about the new star (sun)? I mean, I don’t think it’d make you unhappy but they all seemed so pleased about it... How did they live through the birth of a star?
Why wasn’t Maxim “absorbed” by the monolith? (Was he?)
What is the wonderful thing that’s going to happen? Was it the birth of the new star? For the new life on Europa? So is it like: back off humans; new life is coming, you don’t have to stick your nose into everything?
Unrelated, but it somehow didn’t feel as futuristic as 2001. It looked a bit 80s to me. Oh except for having a pool for dolphins in your house.
