I'm going through my steam library and picking out old games to play that I played as a kid but never really finished. I booted up spacechem and in the level select screen there's a button that says " generate forum signature". And, it does what it says, makes a forum signature sized image displaying your progress in spacechem. God. Poems, outlines of stars on the ceiling, landlord white, etc, you get it.
years and years ago i claimed that zachtronics rides the line between making games that are fun to play and making straight up job simulators that are just as tedious to do as a real job. that was childish and immature of me.
now, years later, with more life experience and wisdom, i went back one more time to give space chem a 5th chance and i came to realize that the beauty of space chem is that it introduces neat little concepts, clearly delineated parameters, a clear and concise list of well defined tasks for me to perform at my leisure, and short, well designed little leaflets to gradually introduce each new concept one by one, with plenty of opportunities to practisce and make mistakes consequence free.
you know, everything that my current job (or indeed any job ever) is not
doodle estimating how it would go if i streamed any of zachtronics's fine puzzle offerings that i do, sincerely, adore so very much.
second panel was brought to you in part by this website
if you have this tf2 badge youre the meme of the guy with a parade made out of their huge brain IRL and I applaud you
Thanks to a timely Steam Sale, I’ve just purchased a bundle of programming and engineering-themed puzzle games by Zachtronics!
I’ll post reviews as I play through ‘em. Let’s hope I don’t suck at them, or I will have paid $25 to feel very, very dumb.
wild how in the final release of of spacechem they made the protagonist, Space Chemist, a kitty cat with big bappy paws and a bootleg pyro tf2 cosplay
man i really just cannot wrap my head around flip flops, oh well, will keep trying tomorrow
