TNG "Up the Long Ladder" went through several changes, one of which was the title initially being "Send in the Clones"

Another was the removal of scenes of refuelling the Enterprise D with antimatter.

A gigantic Antimatter Accelerator ring station was conceived with tankers to transport the fuel to the Enterprise D.

Earth Spacedock or Starbase 1 was a Federation space station facility in Earth orbit, built sometime prior to the year 2285.

1983. ILM technicians work on the 6ft tall Spacedock filming model for Star Trek III: The Search for Spock.

The filming model was filled with neon-lighting and then covered with thin metal plates that were etched with thousands of tiny holes to give the appearance of illuminated windows.
